“All too often education actually acts as a form of aversion therapy"

Alan Moore, author of V for Vendetta and The Watchmen, talks here about, amongst other things, a real education. You know, one that’s actually driven by the learner. Worth a quick read, and also worth reconsidering comics (graphic novels, if you prefer) as a valid form of literature if you’d written them off as unworthy of your time – or that of your children. Anarchy, fascism, moral ambiguity... Get stuck in!

Thanks to Clay Burrell for flagging it up here.

Libertarian and heretic. Parent, partner and entrepreneur. Embracing autonomous learning. Leading not following. Challenging the status quo.

I do agree with being kind, considerate and generous to others.

I don't agree with compulsion, coercion or unnecessary intervention in any aspect of life - that goes for education and childbirth too.

I value autonomy, personal responsibility and informed choice.

I really am all for the freedom - are you?
